ODI Partners Matjaž Jan and Branko Ilić and ODI Senior Associate Maša Drkušič contributed as legal experts to Doing Business 2020, a World Bank flagship publication, 17th in a series of annual studies measuring the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it.

This year’s report, with data current as of 1 May 2019, measures various aspects of regulation affecting 12 areas of business activity in 190 economies, analysing regulation that encourages efficiency and supports freedom to do business.

Slovenia scores 76.5% and comes at place 37 overall in the ease of doing business ranking, covering areas such as starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, paying taxes, trading across borders, and resolving insolvency.
